Open Day Dates and Information
We are thrilled to be opening our doors to visitors to the school and invite you to see below for available dates for booking.
Whilst we are so happy to be holding our Open Days again, we continue to be mindful and ensure we keep staff, students and our visitors safe. We continue to monitor government guidance surrounding Covid-19. This may be subject to change. It is up to our visitors whether or not you choose to wear face masks on site, we do request you make use of the hand sanitiser which will be available. We will keep your contact information for 30 days after your visit to provide to NHS Track & Trace, if required. We recommend continued lateral flow testing prior and after your visit to Gretton School to prevent any spread of Covid-19.
“We are the admissions team and would be happy to help facilitate a visit to the school to see how we might be able to help your young person. Attending one of our open afternoons will very likely answer many questions you may have on the day, but we are available beforehand, during and after to ensure you have all the information you require when making such a big decision as this; your child’s school placement.”
- Admissions Team
Visit our Admissions page to find out how you could enquire about a place here at Gretton School.
"‘Every child we saw seemed confident and engaged, and we both thought the school had a truly positive feel.’"
We hold Open Days at Gretton twice a month for parents/guardians to come along and find out a bit more about what we do here. We specifically hold one for parent/carers with young people in Key stages 2-3 and another for parent/carers with young people in Key stages 4-5.
This will start with an introduction and welcome from our staff, usually carried out by a member of our Senior Leadership Team and the admissions team will also be on hand to assist with any questions you may have throughout the visit.
Following this will be a tour of the school and the facilities we have to offer.
Please note, due to demand, this is for parents/guardians only, a maximum of 1 person per family may attend. This is with an aim to cause as little disruption and noise to our students during these visits, as well as ensuring we are allowing as many people as possible to view the school. Covid-19 restrictions mean we have had to dramatically limit our numbers so we appreciate your understanding and support in only booking one space on your selected date.
It is with regret that we are no longer exploring Key Stage 4 or Key Stage 5 (September 2022) referrals for the foreseeable future (i.e. if your young person is currently in Year 9 or above, moving into Year 10 or above in September 2022).
This is due to a number of recent confirmations by the local authorities meaning these year groups are now full. So please bear in mind that it is not possible to make an application for these learners at the moment. The closure of KS4 & 5 referrals will not affect students in lower Key Stages as they move up through the school into KS4. Therefore if your young person is currently in Year 8 or below (and moving into Year 9 or below in September 2022) you may still wish to come for future reference.
It is important to stress that we do not hold a waiting list as it is in the best interests of the learners to seek alternative placement. Should you be exploring placement in the future you are of course welcome to contact us to see whether we have opened our KS4 & KS5 referrals.
