Gretton School are delighted to announce that we have had a fantastic outcome in our GCSE results.
Ian Thorsteinsson, Principal of Gretton School reports “We are extremely proud of the young people at Gretton who have worked so hard, overcome such adversity and in most cases overcome large gaps in their educational journey to achieve so well. For our GCSE candidates who sat the exams to achieve overall a 55% 9 to 4 rating given their starting points and missed education is fantastic. Particularly pleasing are the Science results – across the 7 various Science exams completed by our students, 94% of results were in the 9 to 4 bracket.
“It is extremely pleasing for the staff team to see such success through such challenge and we are all incredibly proud.”
Gretton School would like to take this opportunity to particularly wish those leaving us or remaining at the school the very best of luck in their future. Use the skills learned at Gretton School in everything you do, and you will make a fantastic impact wherever you go.
Beth Elkins, Assistant Head of Secondary said “I am so very proud of our GCSE students this year. Summative exams can be such a huge challenge for learners; to recall, under pressure, all that they have learned over their school career and this is particularly true of our learners at Gretton. To have achieved 55% of our results at grade 4 or above is absolutely incredible and is a testament to how hard these young people have worked towards their goals. They should be enormously proud of themselves.”
