Open Afternoon Dates and Information
“We are the admissions team and would be happy to help facilitate a visit to the school to see how we might be able to help your young person. Attending one of our open afternoons will very likely answer many questions you may have on the day, but we are available beforehand, during and after to ensure you have all the information you require when making such a big decision as this; your child’s school placement.”
"‘Every child we saw seemed confident and engaged, and we both thought the school had a truly positive feel.’"
We hold Open Afternoons at Gretton twice a month for parents/guardians to come along and find out a bit more about what we do here. We specifically hold one for parent/carers with young people in Primary School and another for parent/carers with young people in Secondary School.
This will start with a presentation from one of our teaching staff, you will also meet a member of our Senior Leadership Team and the admissions team will also be on hand to assist with any questions you may have.
Following this will be a tour of the school and the facilities we have to offer.
Please note, due to demand, usually we hold one specifically for Primary students and one for Secondary students. This is for parents/guardians only, a maximum of 2 people per family may attend. This is with an aim to cause as little disruption and noise to our students during these afternoons.
We look forward to welcoming you to Gretton School, due to Coronavirus we will be implementing the following to ensure everyone's safety when we recommence tours of our school. We thank you for your cooperation during these times. We aim to begin tours of Gretton School from September 2020.
no one is to attend/be allowed inside the premises if they are displaying any of the symptoms of coronavirus.
temperature checks may be performed upon arrival.
only small groups are permitted to tour. Whilst there is no guidance on the number, it seems sensible to stick to the 'two households' rule therefore we'd recommend that no more than 4/6 people should be in a group - to include all staff member/s who are to speak/meet with them - and there should be no crossover with other groups.
hand sanitizer gel will be available at all/any entry and exit points and doors/windows will remain open, where possible.
visitors will be notified of the requirement for social distancing and asked to comply, particularly indoors.
visitors will be notified of the requirement for face coverings to be worn (by visitors) in indoor areas (not for those who are medically exempt/children under 11 years).
the timing of tours will be carefully considered to minimise contact with our students.
Please note: If we become aware of any local outbreaks/lockdowns, this guidance will be reviewed and tours may need to be cancelled at short notice.
We are currently putting all open days on hold, there will be a virtual tour available here soon. Please call 01223 277438 or enquire by email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss further.
