Last week we were thrilled to be visited by a past student who left us back in March 2020, due to covid he sadly didn't get to finish the year in the traditional way so it was wonderful to have him back, to catch up and to show him the new Rectory site.
Nathan is now studying Tourism & Travel at College, he is driving now, he has plans to go travelling and is trying to secure a part time job around his college courses which are going really well for him. He has a good social network and is living his 'best life'.
"Gretton really was the start of my life, before this school I was on a negative path. At Gretton I created memories which will last a life time, it really provided me with a new lease of life and self belief. I no longer switch off sockets and my OCD is so much better."
- Nathan, past student
Nathan also told staff he would welcome the opportunity to come back in the summer and speak to our current learners about all the things they can acheive when they are ready to leave Gretton.
"I cant tell you how immensely proud I am of this young man, it made me emotional. It was so lovely to see him, he has become a man and has such a wonderful mature outlook."
- Sam Taylor O'Farrell, SENDCo & Assistant Headteacher
We love to hear from our previous students and seeing how they're doing in 'life after Gretton'. Our dedicated team of staff pride themselves on staying in touch with our learners after their journey at Gretton has come to an end.
